Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
· Perform conceptual, FEED, studies, and detailed design per design basis, codes, and standards.
· Lead small project engineering teams or act as area lead/deputy lead.
· Apply expertise to standard and non-standard engineering problems and mentor junior engineers.
· Prepare detailed design calculations, reports, MTOs, specifications, and subcontract documents.
· Conduct design checks, inter-discipline reviews (IDC), and ensure constructability and maintainability.
· Execute independent structural analyses, including specialist tasks (e.g., fatigue, FEM, geotechnical).
· Coordinate and review vendor data, technical bids, and subcontractor documents.
· Develop engineering guides, progress reports, schedules, and resource estimates.
· Liaise with other disciplines and teams to ensure cohesive and clash-free designs.
· Provide support to MOPEX offices and collaborate with safety, procurement, and project management teams.
· Supervise and guide engineers/designers, ensuring adherence to standards and quality.
· Prepare structural layouts, weight control reports, and center of gravity reports.
· Utilize expertise in various design codes (e.g., EC, ACI, API) for compliance and accuracy.
· Support project managers with deliverable control, man-hour estimates, and schedules.
· Report to project leads and liaise with disciplines, vendors, subcontractors, and customers.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering
8-15 years of experience in oil and gas with a major contractor or consultant predominantly performing detail design
Preferably Registered Professional Engineer or member of professional engineering society as applicable
Seasoned knowledge of engineering standards and specifications
Good knowledge of engineering software
Able to work independently
Good working knowledge of English, both oral and written
HSE, TQM, and cost-conscious
